SOTANGHON WITH TOKWA






” A CHRISTMAS PREMIUM RECIPE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY”

2 pounds fried tofu (Bean curd or Chinese) fresh tofu

½ cup peanuts

10 cup of noodles cooked

½ pound bean sprouts, cleaned

1 pound lettuce (romaine heart), cleaned and chopped

½ cup wangsoy (cilantro) or parsley, chopped

¼ cup dried onion, chopped

1 tablespoon olive or canola oil

Ingredients for sauce:

2 tablespoons fish sauce

1 can of Diet 7-Up ™

2 small red chili

4 cloves of garlic, peeled

½ large lemon

Steps:

Slice the fried tofu into ½ inch wide and 2 inches long.

Heat oil in a nonstick (non-stick) pan. Saute the onions and then sauté.

Continuously stir. Remove the pan from heat while sautéing to make sure the unions not  get deeply fried. Immediately stir the sliced ??tofu - cut the heat of the fire and extend for 5 minutes

Roast peanuts in a pan or oven until it shows a golden brown color.

Slightly grind the nuts by hand or grinder. If food processor is used, do not overdo the grinding it can result to being a “peanut butter”. Keep it aside

Directions for sauce:

Sliced jalapenos. If you want to have a spicy sauce, do not remove the seeds. Removing the seeds reduces the sharpness of it. Place the jalapenos and the peeled garlic in food grinder and grind until it taste fine.
