3 teaspoon yeast
3/4 cup water
2 cups sifted cake flour
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 egg whites
1/4 cup sugar
Cheese, sliced


  1. Prepare a steamer and several small muffin pans.
  2. Dissolve yeast in water.
  3. Combine flour, sugar, and baking powder.
  4. Pour in dissolved yeast. Set aside.
  5. In a bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Add sugar and continue beating until stiff. Fold in the yeast mixture. Pour into pans the let ferment for 10 – 20 minutes.
  6. Top with slices cheese. Steam for about 10 – 15 minutes. Brush with butter before serving.
