PUTO MAYA INGREDIENTS
2 cups sweet rice (glutinous rice)
4 cups coconut milk
1 cup sugar
a bit of ginger sliced thinly
pinch of salt
1 sm. grated young coconut

PUTO MAYA PROCEDURES
1. Rinse rice and place in 2 quart saucepan
2. Add coconut milk, sugar, ginger.
3. Boil for 20 minutes and stir once in a while
4. Simmer until the sweet rice is cooked.
5. Mold cooked rice in small cups.
6. Sprinkle sugar and top flat surface with grated coconut.

Is a pinch of salt is helpful? That’s what my grandma did. Just a culianry thought.
