Nilasing na Sugpo Ingredients:
1 egg
3/4 cup flour
2/3 cup beer
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups flaked coconut
24 pieces medium shrimp
3 cups oil for frying

1/2 cup orange marmalade
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1/4 cup honey
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce

Nilasing na Sugpo Procedures:
1. In a bowl, combine egg, 1/2 cup flour, beer and baking powder.
2. Put the remaining flour and flaked coconut in separate bowls.
3. Dredge the shrimps in flour the dip in the beer batter.  Allow excess batter to drip off.
4. Roll in the flaked coconut.  Place shrimps on a baking tray lined with wax paper. Chill for 30 minutes.
5. Heat the oil the fry the shrimps by batches until crisp and golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
6. Combine the ingredients for the sauce and serve as dipping sauce for the fried shrimps.

i think the recipe name sholud be ‘nilasing na SUGPO’ not Sugbo is the native term for Cebu. (i’m a cebuano so this caught my attention). sugpo means prawn while shrimp is hipon.
