2 cups glutinous rice
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup thick coconut milk
3 1/2 cup diluted coconut milk
1teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon powdered anise


Boil diluted coconut milk in a pan. Add the glutinous rice and salt. Boil until it evaporates slightly.  Stir constantly to avoid burning. Lower the temperature and add 2/3 cup of brown sugar. Line the rice cake pan with wilted banana leaves and place the mixture. Pour the thick coconut milk and the remaining sugar and anise. Cover the baking pan and bake in a traditional oven until color of the top turns medium brown.
